Matt Van Gelder, Owner
Matt has worked in bike shops every summer since middle school. After completing his bachelor's degree in Financial Services from Bryant University, he decided it was time to open his own shop on the Cape Cod Rail Trail in Dennis, and combine his business knowledge with his bike shop experience. Matt takes pride in his bicycle repair work and loves staying current with new technology. He likes to spend time riding whenever he gets the chance.
Ken is the new bicycle repair technician and has joined our team full-time for the 2016 season. He has many years of technical expertise and repair experience ranging from bikes to electrical work. Ken is excited to get your old ride back on the road or set-up your brand new set of wheels. He can fix almost anything and is ready for your next project.
Eric has returned for his second summer season at the shop as our delivery driver and bike rental manager.
Zach has joined the DCC team for 2016 and continues to learn about the bike industry.
Cate and Matt starting dating over ten years ago. Cate graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2011, and was fully supportive and highly involved when Matt decided to start Dennis Cycle Center the same year. After the 3rd season at the bike shop, Cate and Matt were married (during the off-season, of course!) While Cate works a full time job as a Director at a local non-profit, she can be found helping out at the shop most evenings and weekends. Don’t be surprised when she fixes your flat or helps with your on-the-spot repairs!
Grover is our new shop dog as of July 2014 and he has been a happy addition to our team! He was rescued by Friends of Homeless Animals and we adopted him to give him the permanent home he deserved. He's a purebred field beagle that loves to meet new people and dogs at the shop. He's pretty lazy too...you can often find him sleeping on the stairs!
